Press Release:
Taipei, Taiwan, October 6, 2008 – Consistent with the tradition of breaking new grounds, ASUS is proud to present the world’s first Intel® Quad Core™ Gaming notebook—the G71. Specifically designed with gamers in mind, the G71 is the first in ASUS’ planned series of Quad Core™ gaming notebooks and an addition to its expanding G Series. The G71 delivers a total gaming experience in a highly portable package, with an emphasis on audio clarity and stunning graphics performance.

The World’s First Quad Core™ Gaming Notebook
The ASUS G71 is the world’s first Quad Core™ gaming notebook, powered by the new Intel Core™ 2 Extreme processor QX9300. The removal of the Overspeed Protection means that the G71 is capable of extreme performance through overclocking, pushing the envelope of computational processing power and thus allowing users to multitask extensively.

Superior Gaming Performance
As a dedicated gaming notebook, the G71 sports an impressive array of high performance components, such as a 17” Crystal Shine high brightness display with a quick response time of 8 ms, powered by a NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT GDDR3 512 MB graphics card. The G71 also features up to 4 GB of DDR3 1066MHz system memory coupled with dual hard disk drives of up to 1 TB (500 GB x 2)—enabling users to enjoy multimedia entertainment and games while on the move.

Direct Console 2.0
Direct Console 2.0 is an all-in-one gaming control interface that allows users to select from three processor speed settings depending on their mode of usage. The same interface also includes controls for Direct Messenger, enabling communication utilities such as Instant Messaging (MSN™), Meeting and E-mail notification. The gaming hotkeys enable users to launch their favorite games with a single touch and execute in-game commands on-the-fly. The chassis of the G71 also features a programmable lighting system, which lights up and blinks during in-game events. These lights can be configured through the Direct Console 2.0, providing the user with a pyrotechnic-like ambience while in the game.

Direct Messenger
Users can now read their emails and communicate via Instant Messaging (MSN™) through the Direct Messenger. Acting as a secondary display, it displays email notifications, instant messages, battery reserves and system loadings in real-time even during a game in progress. This allows users to keep in touch with their friends and family while multitasking between various applications.

Entertainment and Style on the Move
The G71 incorporates several entertainment features that promise to give users a gaming experience like none other. Altec Lansing speakers equipped with a subwoofer deliver excellent sound reproduction, further complimented by Dolby™ Home Theater. A 2.0 megapixel webcam allows users to communicate visually through Skype™ or MSN™; while a dedicated game keyboard layout provides them with strategically placed movement keys on a full-sized keyboard—granting them quick access to their in-game inventories and allowing them to issue commands in the shortest time possible. These features combine to provide an entire host of gamer-centric features for users to immerse themselves in a world of audio and visual entertainment with style.

Fun for Everyone
The G71 may have the sheer power to sate the needs the most serious of gamers, but it is also very suitable for those who prefer to play games on a more casual basis. Attaching ASUS’ innovative Eee Stick—a simple plug and play gaming solution that allows users to interact with the game by translating their hand motions into corresponding movements onscreen—for example, will instantly transform the G71 into a mobile gaming console. The easy-to-use and family-friendly Eee Stick—which works with all of ASUS’ notebooks—consists of an Activation stick, a Navigation stick and a 2.4GHz RF dongle. It has a broadcast range of up to 10 meters, allowing users more leeway for physical movement. Boasting three modes of operation, the Eee Stick can be used with a myriad of game genres, ranging from sports and shooting, to action and beat ‘em up games.

LG KC780 officially announced

Posted by DEADMANWORLD

It has already been confirmed earlier this month and now LG has official announced it, the LG KC780 another 8.0-megapixel camera phone. This 13.9mm thick slider comes with 2.4-inch display screen and comes without 3G, built in WiFi and GPS, so I guess it should be kinda affordable.

Focusing on its camera, a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens is used for the camera with a maximum of 8.0-megapixel resolution and 1600 ISO. The Face detection feature is equipped too which automatically finds and focuses on people’s faces to take a clear and perfect shot. Part of this feature relies on the LG’s Smile Detection technology, this smile detection will recognize the angle of people’s mouths and adjust focus for faces and a Beauty Mode will help in removing spots and imperfections on people’s faces ~ to ensure faces appear bright and clear in photos. No worry of too bright as the SmartLight setting will fix that problem. And the most importantly, an built Image Stabilizer is equipped, allows user to take clear and sharp photos even in shaky situations.

In addition, the phone’s camera can also be used as a webcam for online chat, no USB cable needed, the phone will be connected to computer via the phone’s Bluetooth which they call it Smart Bluetooth. This Smart Bluetooth also allows user to send and read text messages via computer. The LG KC780 will be available in November starting Europe later expanding to CIS and Asia, including India, Thailand, Hong Kong and China.

Anti-Gravity Globe

Posted by DEADMANWORLD

Now the weight of the world is no longer on your shoulders. You amazed to see this flying globe in the air, I was also astonished to see this flying globe before i read the fact about the globe. First I thought that it could be just a photoshop creation but I was wrong, it is real just because of science, the Anti-Gravity Globe. Now lets read how does it work?

The globe itself is very light in weight. There is a precisely placed magnet located at the inside top of the globe. Once you plug in the heavily weighted base, and carefully place the globe over top the center of the base, a combination of sensors and micro-processors help to calibrate the embedded electromagnet in the base to properly suspend the globe. It gets deeper than that, of course, but you know the saying, if we told you, we would have to.....well, let you know. And that would take time away from convincing you to buy! BUY! BUY!

With it's minimalist design, futuristic appeal, and relatively small footprint - this is probably just what you need on your desktop day to day to remind you how amazing science really is. Oh, and also how quickly our planet can fall out of balance without a little helping hand.

Features:
  • Globe measures 4" in diameter
  • Mirrored chrome base finish
  • AC Power Adaptor (120V US) included
  • Every purchase includes the actual item ordered!
You can buy it at AMAZON at the price of $60.75(Rs. 2855)

USB Plasma Ball, its awesome....

Posted by DEADMANWORLD

One of the coolest gadget on earth, USB Plasma Ball. Just the word plasma makes you think of going boldly where no-one has gone before. Just plug this neat gizmo into your USB port, and streams of red and blue plasma light will flicker out from the core of the hand-blown glass sphere throwing mesmerising light trails across its surface. Touch the sphere with your fingers, and blue light will shoot out towards your fingertips. Absurdly cheap considering the sheer weight of scientific brilliance stuffed inside of it, the Mini USB Plasma Ball is just 13cm high, and is an utterly compelling science project cum wanna have desk-top diversion.

How does the USB Plasma Ball Really Work?
Glad you asked. A combination of interesting and fun gasses (like Argon) are first trapped inside a plastic sphere at relatively low pressures. An alternating current, at relatively high voltages (Hey, this is USB remember, so it can't get too crazy), are pumped into the sphere via an electrode in the center. This energy causes electrons to be stripped from the gasses, leaving in its wake some positively charged ions and a gorgeous gaseous and electrically conductive environment (aka Plasma). That high voltage served up through the electrode will now arc up through the plasma to the lower voltage edge of the plastic sphere (starting at the top where the temperature is greater). The arcs glow because they are hotter than the surrounding plasma. You can touch the plastic and the arcs will strongly congregate to your touch because you will be creating an even lower voltage jump from the electrode. All this made possible by the evil genius of Nikola Tesla, oh, and some science.

Main Features:
  • USB powered sphere with coloured lightning flashes inside.
  • At touch, blue flashes of lightning will move to greet your fingertips.
  • Suitable for ages 8 years+.
  • Requires a computer/adaptor with a USB port (USB cable included).
  • Hand-blown sphere: 8 cm diameter.
  • Size: 13 x 10 x 10cm.
You can buy it from THINKGEEK at the price of $12.99(Rs. 610)
